I am proud of the progress in my garden this year. After a lot of hard work, it is at a stage that I can really enjoy it. As much as possible, I have tried to listen to the garden rather than trying to force it to do my will. It reminds me to treat life in the same way. Be patient. Be tolerant. Enjoy.
The garden is in such good shape for this time of the year. The temperatures have moderated and the rainfall is adequate. Summer tasks are now routine. I am deadheading perennials and some weeding which is much less this year as the perennials have filled in the open space.
As usual, I will be posting on the Six on Saturday group. The routine is to post 6 photos of the day or of recent vintage. Gardeners from around the world join. Come visit. Take 6 of your own and join us. The rules are easy.

The brown eyed Susan is a favorite in my garden. It reseeds and has just begun blooming so it is a welcome addition to the blooming plants.
The Dragon Wing Begonia will display well until frost.
The Coreopsis is a self seeder and can be a little pushy but I forgive it since it is so charming.

I have shown you this Caladium before but they are in rare form this year.
The Dahlia attracts the pollinators. I started these from seed several years ago and they are acting like hardy perennials.
I had to show you this double rainbow that appeared yesterday evening as we were coming out of a restaurant after dinner.
Happy Gardening!

Morning Doc, for some reason I can’t see any of the photos today. May be a fault at my end? Not sure.
Oh. I had a problem uploading last night. I reuploaded and deleted what I thought was the first lot. I just reloaded. I hope that fixes it. You’re the best Rosie.
All good now Doc.
Like Rosie, I seem to be having problems accessing the images – I’ve refreshed the page a few times. The pale yellow flower in the cover photo with the bee is lovely though.
Sorry. I had a problem uploading. I have edited the post and reloaded. Hope that does the trick.
It does! That’s a lovely Dahlia. Nice rainbow photo too
Lots to love here. I’m very envious of the caladium, I had a tuber once but it didn’t sprout and then rotted. Lovely dahlia and coreopsis.

The pictures did not come thru on my phone- just the names

Beautiful dahlia, I love the pale yellow.
How tall is your Rudbeckia? I have been wanting to add some somewhere, planning a little expansion next year and will use some self seeded stuff, but also want to add a few new things, but I have to consider height so it doesn’t shade the vegetables too much. Nice rainbow! I used to see so many when I lived in Seattle, but I don’t see as many here, maybe when it rains here it really rains with dark clouds, not the mist with partial sun that was common in the PNW.
The R. triloba is tall and leggy. The one in the photo is about 30 inches high. The R. hirta “Indian summer” that I have is 24 inches high. If that helps.
The dahlia is lovely – unusual to see them that colour. Love the Rudbeckia, and the Caladium is a beauty too!
Like the colour of the dahlia very unusual, also like your rainbow. The caladium has a beautiful leaf, just as good as any flower!
I’m trying Caladiums for the first time this year. They were slow to shoot but are moving on now. I wish Coreopsis self seeded here!
