This week, I am on vacation so there are no gardening photos. Instead, I have two interesting photos from my beach vacation and an invitation to participate in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census (https://gsepc.org) if you happen to live in the region. If you don’t, explore the site since it is a wonderful example of citizen science.
I also encourage you to come look at the Six On Saturday group. Participants post 6 recent garden photos to share. There will be a link to their blogs. The host is Jim Stephens and here is the link https://gardenruminations.co.uk/. If you wish, join in and post 6 of your own photos. Participants guide can be found on Jim’s page.
- Rainbow over the beach

Each afternoon, there is a chance of a rain shower or thunderstorm. I happened to catch this rainbow. I do believe it is a sign of good fortune.
2. Egret Posing On The Beach

I captured this white egret. You can see his yellow eyes and his yellow feet. Unintentionally on my part, there was a reflection and a shadow which were both well defined. He was also enjoying the pleasant solitude of the beach in the morning sun.
3. Great Southeast Pollinator Census

If you live in the Southeastern US, come join me in this example of Citizen Science. Dates are August 21 and 22. This year citizens of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi are included. It takes 15 minutes of your time but you can count as many times as you want on those days. It started as a pilot project in Georgia in 2017 but has now spread to surrounding states. Here is the link https://gsepc.org/
I will be back at my garden next week.
Happy Gardening!
